Get sound from your mixer into OCvoice
The best audio comes straight from the sound desk: an aux send carrying speech only, through a small USB audio interface, into the microphone picker. Here's how to wire it.
Your computer can't take an XLR cable directly — you need a small USB audio interface (e.g. a Behringer UMC22, around €40). The signal path is: mixer → interface → USB → computer, and the interface shows up in OCvoice's microphone picker.
How to wire it
Ask for an aux send with speech only
Ask your sound tech for an output carrying only the speech microphones — no music, no room effects. Music in the signal degrades the translation.
Connect mixer → interface
XLR or ¼" jack from the aux output into the interface's input, and the interface into the computer's USB port.
Pick the interface in OCvoice
Under Audio input → Microphone, pick the interface in the dropdown (it's usually named something with "USB Audio").
Self-test
Speak into the stage microphone and watch the LIVE INPUT meter react. If it hits red, turn the interface's gain knob down.
Monitor the feed
Most interfaces have a headphone jack — plug in headphones and hear exactly what OCvoice hears.
