Supported browsers for broadcasting

Broadcast from Chrome or Edge. Safari can't share tab audio and handles audio devices less reliably — but listeners can use any browser.

Use Chrome or Edge on the broadcast computer. Safari cannot share audio from a browser tab and handles audio-device changes (Bluetooth, USB) less reliably mid-broadcast.

Switch in two minutes

  1. Get Chrome

Download and install Chrome — it takes a couple of minutes.

    Get Chrome
  2. Sign in to OCvoice again

Open OCvoice in Chrome and sign in — your organisation and sessions are already there.

  3. Pick your microphone again

Microphone choice follows the browser: pick your microphone under Audio input and check the LIVE INPUT meter.

Listeners can use anything

The limitation only applies to the broadcast computer. Listeners' phones work in every browser — including Safari on iPhone.

Why? Safari's screen sharing never hands over tab audio (verified live), and reconnection on device changes is less robust. Chrome and Edge share the same engine and behave identically.
