Translate a stream or video (browser tab)

Need OCvoice to translate audio playing on the computer — a livestream or video? Use the browser-tab source. No virtual audio drivers needed.

Pick Browser tab under Audio input when the sound source is a tab in the browser — for example your livestream. You do not need BlackHole, VB-Cable or any other virtual audio driver.

How to do it

  1. Pick the tab

Press Browser tab and choose the tab with the audio in Chrome's dialog.

  2. Remember "Also share tab audio"

Tick **"Also share tab audio"** at the bottom of the dialog — without it no sound comes through.

  3. Check the meter

The LIVE INPUT meter should react when the tab plays audio.

Safari can't share tab audio

Tab audio works in Chrome and Edge. Safari cannot share audio from a tab — use Chrome on the broadcast computer.

Audio from apps outside the browser (e.g. ProPresenter) needs a virtual audio driver selected as the microphone (BlackHole on Mac, VB-Cable on Windows) — but first check whether the source can simply be opened in a tab.
