How OCvoice works

Three things happen between the pulpit and the pew. Here is each one, and what it cannot do.

It listens

Your sound desk or a microphone feeds the service into a browser on the church computer. There is nothing to install and no special hardware. OCvoice recognises the Danish as it is spoken, and when the pastor quotes a line of English, it follows that too, without anyone switching anything.

It translates and speaks

As each phrase lands, it is translated into the languages your listeners have chosen and read aloud in a natural voice, male or female as the church prefers. The names you enter in your settings (your church, your pastors, your town) help the translation recognise and preserve them. When the band starts, the church decides whether translation rests or carries on; if it rests, it picks up again at the first spoken word.

It reaches the pew

Listeners scan a QR code, pick one of the languages the church offers and put in an earbud. No app and no account. Subtitles run on the screen for those who would rather read, and the text can be made larger. Each listener picks their own language, so one service can serve many. If some members don't carry a phone, your technician can send any translated language into the FM receivers or headphone system the church already owns.

What to expect

The translation follows shortly behind the speaker, a little further with a fast preacher. It is not a human interpreter: it will occasionally mishear a word, and quality depends on the sound, the pace and the language. We don't put a percentage on it. On the front page you can hear an unedited recording, mistakes included, and judge for yourself.

Pay only for active translation. Speech recognition, subtitles and audio are included, and selecting languages alone costs nothing. The pricing page calculates the cost for your church. Our privacy policy explains what is stored and for how long.
